OUR
STORY
The Maple Avenue Merchants Association (MAMA) was formed to give a unified voice to the diverse businesses and stakeholders along Maple Avenue — from Oak Lawn Avenue to Mockingbird Lane. What began as an informal network of concerned merchants has grown into a dedicated organization focused on the future of the corridor.
Maple Avenue has long been home to a unique blend of legacy businesses, new entrepreneurs, and cultural landmarks. As the area experiences rapid development — including the $5 billion Medical District expansion the need for organized advocacy and collaboration has never been greater.
MAMA works to ensure that growth benefits everyone. We focus on improving public safety, addressing homelessness, supporting small businesses, and enhancing infrastructure. By working closely with the city, residents, and developers, we help shape a corridor that respects its past while investing in its future.
We believe a stronger Maple Avenue means a stronger community for all.
OUR
VISION
The Maple Avenue Merchants Association (MAMA) is dedicated to promoting a safe, vibrant, and prosperous commercial corridor along Maple Avenue. We work collaboratively with local businesses, property owners, residents, and city officials to address public safety, enhance infrastructure, and support community-driven solutions to challenges such as homelessness, crime, and urban quality of life. Through advocacy, partnership, and strategic planning, MAMA also encourages responsible new development that contributes to the long-term vitality and economic growth of the Maple Avenue district.
